BRUSSELS, Belgium -- The FTTH Council Europe today announced details of its annual conference ‘Europe at the Speed of Light’, to take place at the Palau de Congressos de Catalunya in Barcelona on the 7th and 8th February 2007. Senior representatives from the world’s leading fibre operators and deployers have already confirmed their participation in the speaker programme, as have a number of other high-profile experts, commentators and influencers. Following highly successful events in Amsterdam (2005) and Vienna (2006), next year’s event is anticipated to attract a record 1,000 delegates from the world of fibre technology, deployment, finance, analysis, regulation and business development.

“Everyone with a stake or interest in the future of advanced broadband networks and services will be converging on Barcelona to explore the latest exciting developments in new fibre technology and market development,” said Hartwig Tauber, President of the FTTH Council Europe. “Registrations are arriving in large numbers, and the overwhelming popularity of our annual conference justifiably makes it a landmark event in Europe’s telecoms calendar.”

Alongside the conference itself will be a dedicated exhibition showcasing the latest products and service offerings from leading fibre companies. The exhibition is a fantastic opportunity to experience first-hand the new fibre developments that promise to impact the market landscape during 2007 and beyond.
