RENNES, France -- In order to meet the growing demand in broadband access and Triple Play services in a country with high economic expansion, CAT Telecom, the public telecommunication company in Thailand, made a tender offer of ADSL2+ DSLAMs with Gigabit Ethernet uplinks.

The partnership between Avilinks, the French manufacturer, and BBS Networks, a Voice and Data communication company from Singapore, efficiently presented the best offer and got the tender ahead of the two majors in the DSLAM industry.

Nader G. Kashani, C.E.O. of BBS Networks, said, “We are proud of winning this significant tender, particularly under the intensive competition. CAT Telecom needs a very high standard of performance, and we succeeded, in partnership with Avilinks, in providing an unrivalled technical solution, at an attractive price.”

Christian Crickx, President & CEO of AVILINKS SA, said, “Thanks to a deep partnership with BBS Networks, we won this public tender based on our new range of advanced IP-DSLAMs, the AVIvid. It significantly strengthens our position in the growing Asia Pacific market, and leverages our efforts to supply worldwide Telcos and ISPs with State of the Art xDSL Broadband Access.”

Avilinks’ xDSL equipments will enhance CAT Telecom in the future provision of competitive and valued added broadband services to its customers.

The Tender starts with 10.000 ADSL2+ ports delivered in 20 AVIvid L shelves, that natively integrate the most recent technologies such as PPPoE termination, DHCP, VLAN QinQ, IGMP v.3, 802.1p and Diffserv. The shelf is also future-proof for VDSL2 (available in summer 2006), MPLS, IPV6 and 10 G.E. uplinks.
