TOKYO -- Asia Netcom, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Chinese incumbent telecommunications service provider, China Netcom (NYSE:CN, SEHK:0906), has completed its Tokyo DWDM Metropolitan Network upgrade and expansion to new facilities located in the NF Park.

The new equipment will be located inside facilities operated by Japanese systems integrator and Web development firm, MIND (Mitsubishi Electric Information Network Corporation). The two companies aim to leverage the synergy of Asia Netcom’s global network and MIND’s technical expertise and solutions, and to develop the NF Park facility into a core hub for Japanese corporations building their regional or global networks.

“This NF Park network expansion is part of our ongoing initiative to bring our network closer to our customers,” said Bill Barney, President and Chief Operating Officer of Asia Netcom. “An increasing number of Japanese companies are expanding their business overseas and, in particular, to key Asia Pacific markets such as China and India. NF Park now serves as the Asian gateway for these companies to access Asia Netcom’s regional network as well as MIND’s portfolio of outsourcing services.”

With direct connections to Asia Netcom’s Tokyo DWDM metropolitan infrastructure and regional sub-sea cable network, the NF Park PoP offers Japanese corporations a seamless solution that matches their networking requirements. The partnership with MIND means that customers will now be able to access MIND’s solutions set including, server, network and security management services and application system development, as well as Asia Netcom’s network solutions.
