CAMBRIDGE, U.K. -- ANT Software Limited has announced the appointments of Saleha Williams and Stewart Palmer, as it readies itself for a major push into the digital media market.

Williams joins as Executive VP Commercial from the BBC Technology / Siemens, where she was responsible for setting up and driving the Siemens media and telco business in Asia. Palmer is appointed Engineering Director after joining ANT from Conditional Access company Irdeto.

The speed of change is critical to ANT’s move into this exciting new area and these two high profile appointments demonstrate ANT’s commitment to the broader digital media / telco market. Williams is already defining and implementing ANT’s strategic business and communications strategy to be publicly launched in Las Vegas at NAB (National Association of Broadcasters) in April. She has over 16 years global experience having worked with numerous market leaders including BSkyB, Vodafone, BT, 3 and IBM. Palmer has also worked with a number of leading industry players, including Pace and Irdeto. His role will be to direct ANT’s product and engineering solutions in response to the wider digital media market needs.

Simon Woodward, CEO, ANT Software Limited, said: "We like to surround ourselves with the very best people at ANT, and Saleha and Stewart fall into that category completely. Its going to be an exciting year as we seek to broaden our target market to include media / telco operators whilst maintaining and building on our already impressive market share in the set-top box and media device client software market.

ANT already has a rich heritage in the IPTV market, supplying software and services to around 70 per cent of the market, and is now supplying these services to the wider digital media industry. This will include targeting TV operators, broadcasters, content owners, telcos, cable and satellite operators, as well as continuing with consumer device manufacturers delivering TVs, set top boxes, DVD players, personal media players and digital media adaptors.

Woodward continued: “ANT software offers rock solid delivery of content across multiple platforms and because our solutions are based on open standards, our software can work across any media device – unlike software developed only for PC’s or the web. Our range of flexible, high performance solutions, combined with user-friendly interfaces, mean that we are ideally placed to begin targeting the wider digital media market, and having people of the calibre of Saleha and Stewart on board only makes me more confident we can do it."
