SPOKANE VALLEY, Wa. -- World Wide Packets, a leading provider of Carrier Ethernet solutions, today announced the appointment of Andy Charalambous as vice president of EMEA. Charalambous’ focus will be on cultivating new global customers and partners in key regions around the world. He will also steer World Wide Packet’s global sales force in continued delivery of its innovative, cost- efficient Carrier Ethernet solutions.

Charalambous brings nearly two decades of telecommunications sales planning and management experience to World Wide Packets. Most recently, he served as Vice President of EMEA for Marconi’s Data Networks Division, where he was responsible for leading Marconi into next generation data networking. In this position, he worked to maintain several strategic partnerships for Marconi, drove revenues and signed many significant contracts, including Kingston Communications and British Telecom. Prior to Marconi, he served as Vice President of Worldwide Sales and Services at Orchestream Holdings where, during his tenure, he drove sales revenues from zero to over $25 million. He also held senior sales management positions with Unisphere Networks Inc., Tellabs Corporations Inc., and Anite Networks, where he was directly involved in driving sales efforts.
