Wasatch Photonics announces holographic grating patent

LOGAN, Utah -- Wasatch Photonics, Inc., a leading designer and manufacturer of advanced holographic optics for the optical networking, defense, test & measurement, and medical industries, today announced the United States Patent and Trademark Office granted co-founder Dr. LeRoy Dickson a patent for Advanced Holographic Gratings. Wasatch Photonics has an exclusive license to the patent.

United States Patent # 6,750,995 is entitled "Enhanced Volume Phase Grating with High Dispersion, High Diffraction Efficiency and Low Polarization Sensitivity". These holographic grating components are used to split light into its individual wavelengths enabling high performance telecommunication, medical, defense, and laser devices. The patent covers variations of the E-VPG concept, including those using prisms. Wasatch Photonics designs, manufactures and markets these advanced holographic optics under the names Dickson Gratings® and E-VPGs.
