LOS ANGELES -- The Alliance for Creativity and Entertainment (ACE) yesterday obtained a permanent injunction against SetTVNow, a piracy outfit that was illegally feeding over 500 television channels to its users via online streaming or set-top devices.

The following is a statement from Karen Thorland, Senior Vice President & Deputy General Counsel at the Motion Picture Association of America, on the permanent injunction:

“SetTVNow and other piracy outfits threaten millions of creators, damage economic growth, and hurt consumers. The victory over SetTVNow is a great step forward to reducing the piracy of movies and television shows, including the theft of live TV. It also continues ACE’s legal and operational victories, which continue to protect the legitimate market for creative content.”
