STOCKHOLM -- TeliaSonera has chosen Oracle E-Business Suite as platform for customer management and support, product management and delivery management and mySAP Business Suite as the common platform for the financial area. Accordingly, TeliaSonera will further develop existing Swedish solutions for customer support, product and delivery management and financial systems presently used in Finland. An important driving factor for the merger between Telia and Sonera was to leverage on synergies between the two companies, with a sound IT strategy as one important component. TeliaSonera will implement these solutions in all its wholly owned companies in Sweden, Finland, Norway and Denmark plus within International Carrier. TeliaSonera is striving to act as one telecom company in the entire market and must therefore adapt IT business support systems accordingly. "We must be truly customer oriented and establish a customer driven process for product development. At the same time we must increase efficiency and reduce costs in all business processes. It is therefore important to leverage on the synergies, which the merger between the two companies enables. Among other things, this will be made possible by reducing the number of IT-systems and by starting to use common standard IT-solutions. A common system or system combination is a key factor in achieving these synergies", says Lars-Gunnar Johansson, Group Vice President responsible for Corporate Networks and Technology. Implementation of these platforms will be step by step from a business point of view. The decision is a declaration of the IT-direction rather than connected to an investment decision.
