Telenor sells Tiscali dial-up Internet customer base to MTU Group

FORNEBU, Norway -- On 15 March this year, Telenor received the Norwegian Competition Authority's approval for its acquisition of Tiscali AS. In accordance with the agreement with the authorities, Telenor is now selling the Tiscali dial-up Internet customer base. Buyer is the MTU Group. "We are satisfied with reaching an agreement that will ensure the interests of Tiscali's customers, and are happy to complete our arrangement with the competition authorities as early as today," said Morten Karlsen Sørby, Executive Vice President of Telenor.In connection with the Tiscali acquisition, Telenor agreed to sell Tiscali's dial-up Internet customer base. These 22,000 customers are now sold to MTU. Telenor has kept 18,000 broadband customers, and now has a total of 339,000 broadband customers in the Norwegian consumer market. Telenor ASA
