Lars Christian Iuel appointed new CEO of Telenor Pakistan as Christian Albech retires

FORNEBU, Norway -- Telenor Pakistan today announced that its Board of Directors has appointed Mr. Lars Christian Iuel (47) as the company's new Chief Executive Officer (CEO). He takes up the position on November 1st, succeeding Mr. Christian Albech (64) who will retire after 20 years of service to Telenor.

"It is a pleasure to announce that Lars Christian Iuel will return to Telenor Pakistan, a company and a market that he knows well. He has previously served as Chief Marketing Officer of Telenor Pakistan with excellent results. His in-depth knowledge of the market, combined with his broad telecoms experience and leadership qualities, makes him an ideal candidate to helm our operations in Telenor Pakistan," said Jon Fredrik Baksaas, President and CEO of Telenor Group.

Lars Christian Iuel is currently the Head of Marketing at Telenor Group's Asia office in Bangkok. Prior to that, he worked three years as the CMO of Telenor Pakistan. He has a diverse international background, both from different positions in Telenor and from Cell One in Namibia.
