SUNNYVALE, Calif. -- Lumenaré Networks, developer of applications that enable service providers and equipment vendors to build automated lab and test infrastructures, announced today that Sprint (NYSE:FON - News; NYSE:PCS - News) has purchased a comprehensive package of Lumenaré solutions to automate Sprint labs. The automated infrastructure, built with Lumenaré software, is expected to enable Sprint to plan, schedule, and track the allocation of resources within and across their labs - resulting in higher utilization of equipment and more efficient allocation of resources. It is anticipated that Sprint will be able to increase existing asset utilization, test coverage, and to speed up the test cycle. The solution will allow for online test collaboration between Sprint and its vendors, with the eventual goal of creating one virtual lab environment. "We are counting on the Lumenaré infrastructure to help deliver beneficial products and services to our customers more quickly and efficiently," said Bob Azzi, vice president of Engineering at Sprint. "While our customers enjoy one of the most reliable and survivable networks in the industry, we continually look for new ways to delight them." "This is a first for the industry," said Phil Cavallo, president and CEO of Lumenaré Networks. "We have been working with Sprint for the past year to prove out the solution such that we can all feel confident of the tremendous value it offers." Cavallo continued, "There are a number of service providers and equipment vendors that are looking for ways to mine savings from their existing infrastructure. The Lumenaré lab operations system 'software-enables' virtually any type of lab by providing a web-based platform for automated configuration, scheduling, and remote control of the entire lab environment."
