AT&T struggles to defend open cloudiness of Ericsson deal
More than a year into the Ericsson-led rollout, there is very little evidence AT&T's radio access network is as multivendor and virtualized as the telco makes out.
Private 5G is becoming increasingly popular among businesses that require secure and reliable low latency connectivity for their operations, in industries such as manufacturing, logistics, and healthcare. In response to operator and CSP requirements for more agile, ultra-high capacity and sustainable Private 5G Network infrastructure, Kontron’s new ME and RS product families have been purpose-designed and built to run complex applications in extreme temperatures or challenging environments.

The rollout of more sustainable, energy efficient low latency 5G Network infrastructure is now a priority for operators and CSPs. None more so than for those serving the demanding, ever-growing list of IoT requirements and use cases of industrial and enterprise customers across a broad range of sectors. In response Kontron’s edge servers are setting a new standard in the market as the ME and RS systems integrate multiple hardware requirements into a robust, wide temperature (-40°C to +65°C) platform. Combining separate hardware entities into a single unit not only reduces power consumption but also frees up space to facilitate deployment. Additionally, the long lifecycle of 10+ years allows less equipment usage over the long-term - a further benefit for operators and CSPs seeking more sustainable Private 5G Network deployments.
