Optical Communications Products announced the availability of its 180km and 200km OC48/STM-16 DWDM

WOODLAND HILLS, Calif. -- Optical Communications Products, Inc., a manufacturer of fiber optic subsystems and modules for metropolitan area, local area and storage area networks, today announced the availability of its 180km and 200km OC48/STM-16 Dense Wavelength Division Multiplexing (DWDM) small form factor pluggable (SFP) transceivers to support high-density, long distance metropolitan area networking (MAN) applications.

"With the expansion of the DWDM SFP product portfolio, OCP is well positioned to support the growing WDM-based metro market. We are providing a comprehensive DWDM product line with 80km, 120km, 180km and 200km product options now available," said Kirk Bovill, Director of Marketing.

"We have an excellent low power design with a typical power consumption of 1watt that is addressing the thermal management concerns of our customers."
