SUNNYVALE, Calif. -- Tropos Networks, the proven leader in delivering ubiquitous, metro-scale, Wi-Fi mesh network systems, today announced the Tropos MetroMesh Partner Program, a new initiative that brings together leading vendors from a variety of product categories to speed delivery of complete, end-to-end solutions for Tropos metro-scale Wi-Fi mesh networks. The new program includes Tropos MetroMesh Solution Partners, whose products have proven to successfully interoperate with MetroMesh products to form a complete metro-scale Wi-Fi mesh network solution, and Tropos MetroMesh Development Partners, who have integrated their products closely with MetroMesh products.
The first Tropos MetroMesh Development Partners are Badger Meter, EDX Wireless, Nomadix and Ruckus Wireless.
Badger Meter will offer a version of its industry-leading ORION radio-frequency automatic meter reading (AMR) product that directly connects to Tropos MetroMesh routers. Badger Meter used their technology expertise and ORION's unique design features to create an Ethernet connection for the ORION system that attaches directly to Tropos 5210 MetroMesh routers. This will allow municipal water and gas utilities to quickly, economically and easily enhance their productivity across an entire metro-scale mesh network area.
EDX Wireless' EDX(R) SignalMX(R) offers a powerful MetroMesh coverage planning tool for use in designing and optimizing Tropos MetroMesh networks. SignalMX delivers accurate coverage and performance estimates specific to mesh architecture, and provides data transfer capabilities to and from the Tropos Control element manager when designing Tropos MetroMesh networks. With innovative capabilities, this tool will address all aspects of planning city-wide deployments of mesh networks, from dense urban to suburban and even rural environments.
Nomadix' renowned subscriber access Wi-Fi solutions connect directly to the Tropos MetroMesh architecture, and Nomadix has evolved its Gateways to allow for even greater scale and subscriber support. These solutions provide seamless authentication and service provisioning to enhance the user experience. Nomadix Gateways also allow for the monetization of service plans in generating revenue along multiple streams, so that municipalities can offer flexible public Internet access, enhanced security, and location based services.
Ruckus Wireless is delivering the first in-home Wi-Fi access device designed for use with Tropos MetroMesh networks. By deploying the Ruckus access device, service providers can extend the capabilities of Tropos MetroMesh networks into the home. Advanced integration will allow providers to easily troubleshoot, optimize and manage Tropos MetroMesh networks end-to-end, including the subscriber access device. Ruckus' state-of-the-art BeamFlex smart antennas deliver better, more reliable connections to MetroMesh networks, extended reach and the ability to automatically avoid interference.
