As with critical infrastructure, these networks must be reliable, easy to deploy, and simple to operate to deliver managed services to subscribers quickly and seamlessly. In the new era of fiber to the x (FTTx), broadband service providers (BSPs) must go beyond offering higher bandwidth to stand out in the ever-changing services landscape and differentiate their services and brand. Selecting a network based solely on bandwidth is no longer sufficient. The network must support capabilities that prioritize the subscriber experience—simplified network management, low latency, high service availability, and the ability to handle a variety of services.
