NanoOpto announced that Dr. Nada O’Brien has joined the company as Vice President

SOMERSET, N.J. -- NanoOpto Corporation, who is applying novel design methods and proprietary nano-fabrication technology to produce a broad range of unique optical components that enable higher quality, low-cost optical components and systems, today announced that Dr. Nada O’Brien has joined the company as Vice Presidentof Product Development.

O’Brien brings 12 years of progressive experience in research and development, technology, and product development in the fields of opticsand thin film coatings to NanoOpto. O’Brien started her career at Optical Coating Lab, Inc. (OCLI) as an R&D Engineer, and was later promoted to lead the R&D group for OCLI’s Telecommunications Division. Shortly after the acquisition of OCLI by JDSU, O’Brien held positions with increasing responsibilities in JDSU’s OCLI Products Division, leading product development efforts in display, instrumentation, and digital imaging optics. Prior to joining NanoOpto, O’Brien was Product Development Manager at JDSU, where she was responsible for the launch ofnew products in a $40M global optics and display business. O’Brien, who has been awarded three patents, holds both a Ph.D. and an M.S. in Materials Science and Engineering from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, and a B.S. in Chemical Engineering from Tri-State University in Angola, Indiana.
