Multiplex Gets ISO Certification

Multiplex has been awarded ISO 9001:2000 certification, after an independent assessment carried out by EQA Ltd.

SOUTH PLAINFIELD, N.J. -- Multiplex, Inc. has announced that it has been awarded ISO9001 certification after an extensive independent assessment carried out by EQA Ltd., an accredited ISO9001 registrar, found its quality management system to be fully compliant with all current ISO9001:2000 requirements. The scope of certification covers the "design, manufacture and support of active optoelectronic devices, modules and subsystems," which represents Multiplex' s entire business operations. All three of Multiplex's facilities in South Plainfield, New Jersey passed the stringent ISO assessment on the initial attempt. The mission of the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) is to promote the development of standardization and related activities in the world with a view to facilitating the international exchange of goods and services, and to developing cooperation in the spheres of intellectual, scientific, technological and economic activity. ISO is widely recognized as the predominant means through which organizations can establish and operate an effective total quality management system. EQA Ltd. will monitor Multiplex twice each year as part of a routine surveillance program to ensure its quality management system continues to meet the strict requirements of the International Standard.
