KUALA LUMPUR -- Subscribers of Malaysian operator DiGi Telecommunications Sdn Bhd (“DiGi”) in the densely populated Klang Valley region will soon benefit from an improved mobile experience with greater coverage, better call quality, and added features. DiGi is modernizing its 2G network to address the needs of a growing subscriber base, and cope with increasing traffic, while maximizing energy efficiency and cost savings. Nokia Siemens Networks will undertake this upgrade, which is expected to be completed in November 2009.

To upgrade DiGi’s network, Nokia Siemens Networks will implement its award winning Flexi Base Station – the industry’s smallest and most energy efficient offering which is modular and easy to implement. Nokia Siemens Networks will also undertake the network optimization and project management, and over a three-year period, provide maintenance and further support services to improve network efficiency and enhance the quality of service.
