Mindspeed's inverse multiplexing-over-ATM (IMA) devices have sucessfully completed interoperability testing at UNH-IOL

NEWPORT BEACH, Calif. -- Mindspeed Technologies Inc. (Nasdaq:MSPD), a leading supplier of semiconductor solutions for network infrastructure applications, today announced that its inverse multiplexing-over-ATM (IMA) devices successfully completed interoperability testing at the University of New Hampshire InterOperability Laboratory (UNH-IOL). The recently announced 32-port M28529 IMA device was submitted as a complete solution along with Mindspeed's CX28398 T1/E1 framer and CX28380 line interface unit (LIU).

The UNH-IOL is an independent testing facility designed to test interoperability amongst chipset vendors and equipment manufacturers.

"We are pleased that our third-generation IMA devices successfully completed the rigorous interoperability testing process at the UNH-IOL," said Taqi Mohiuddin, product line manager with Mindspeed. "Third-party validation of interoperability is important in today's complex networking environment."

Mindspeed's 32-port M28529 IMA processor is used to provide bandwidth between T1/E1 and T3/E3 speeds. Consuming 40 percent less power than any other 32-port IMA solution on the market, the M28529 processor also is the most highly integrated solution of its kind to include 512 Kbytes of on-chip memory that surpasses the standards requirements of 25 milliseconds of differential delay compensation. This eliminates the need for an external memory device, which saves cost and board space.
