ATLANTA -- Internap Network Services Corporation (NASDAQ:INAP), a global provider of fast, reliable end-to-end Internet business solutions, today announced that it has launched a new content delivery network (CDN) origin point of presence (PoP) through its proprietary Private Network Access Points (P-NAP(r)) in El Segundo, CA, for increased scale, capacity and premium network performance. The integration of CDN services into the P-NAP helps Internap better manage network processes and realize cost efficiencies, while improving its ability to provide the strongest, most comprehensive portfolio of CDN/IP solutions in the industry.

"We're building an even tighter bridge between our CDN and IP bundled solutions to deliver the best experience for our customers," said James P. DeBlasio, president and chief executive officer of Internap. "Internap's approach represents a new model for moving rich media and streaming video with speed and reliability, that no other provider can match. The El Segundo launch is yet another milestone in our strategic plan to offer a highly differentiated, robust CDN solution."

Delivering Web-based applications through the El Segundo P-NAP, particularly rich media and streaming content, will significantly improve Internap's customers' end-user experience. The Atlanta-based company's patented P-NAP architecture provides redundant connections for up to eight major Network Service Providers (NSPs) for fast, reliable network access. Each P-NAP has an intelligent software layer that mitigates performance culprits that can degrade or even halt the performance of Web-based media.

Completed in July 2007, Internap's unique CDN architecture migrates a former PoP from the downtown Los Angeles location to the El Segundo site, including build-out and installation of servers and other equipment. Internap will store and deliver content through the new PoP location, improving speed and delivery of customer traffic while optimizing speed and performance for rich media applications, such as video and audio streams. Internap will also continue to support existing IP customers through the Los Angeles P-NAP, which is an independent and fully redundant site that also takes advantage of multi-homing and intelligent routing.
