Glimmerglass appoints Joe Parker, founder of metro optical company Opthos, to the newly created role of vice president of systems

HAYWARD, Calif. -- Glimmerglass, a pioneer of automated fiber management, announced today that Joe Parker, PhD has joined as vice president of systems, responsible for all facets of new product development.

Parker's experience spans more than 20 years of research and development in high performance networking and telecommunications, including a decade of specific focus on optical networking.

Prior to joining Glimmerglass, Parker was founder and COO of Opthos, a metro area optical networking company. Earlier, Parker directed leading edge research at ONI Systems in next-generation all-optical networks in addition to collaboration with Bellcore and DoD on the MONET signaling protocol for all-optical networks.
