SUNNYVALE, Calif. -- Juniper Networks, Inc. (NASDAQ: JNPR) today announced that Sri Lanka Telecom (SLT) has further expanded its network with Juniper Networks M-series multiservice routing platforms and E-series Broadband Services Routers as part of a project to introduce new service offerings. The M-series platforms enable SLT to offer advanced MPLS-based Virtual Private Network (VPN) services to business consumers in Sri Lanka.

SLT has also upgraded its broadband infrastructure with Juniper's market-leading E-series to enable advanced multiservice broadband offerings.

SLT is Sri Lanka's premier telecommunications provider and previously deployed Juniper Networks M-series to replace its legacy Internet gateway routers. The recently added M-series platforms will further enhance SLT's infrastructure, enabling the service provider's new MPLS-based VPN offerings.

"The biggest challenge we faced was providing advanced IP services at scale with complete reliability and consistency across all our sites," said Mr. Kapila, CMO, Sri Lanka Telecom. "The Juniper solution, with the E- and M-series platforms, enables us to provide a complete suite of MPLS and broadband services to a large number of customers without sacrificing network performance or stability."

SLT will use the Juniper Networks platforms to introduce MPLS Layer 2 and Layer 3 VPNs, and VPLS, as well as integrated voice, video and data (triple play) broadband services.

The Juniper Networks M-series multiservice edge routing platform uniquely combines best-in-class IP/MPLS capabilities with unmatched reliability, performance, and service flexibility. The M-series enables providers to consolidate multiple networks onto a single IP/MPLS infrastructure, while simultaneously leveraging new revenue streams with leading-edge services. The M-series also runs on the proven JUNOS modular operating system, enabling SLT to reduce operating expenses. By running multiple functions in parallel on assigned processing resources, JUNOS software delivers high stability with the flexibility to enable advanced routing, QoS, security, and management policies with predictable performance.
