SUNNYVALE, Calif. -- Recent high-profile news, such as Amazon’s cloud outage and Sony’s security breach, has helped to fuel the growing concerns around cloud security and reliability. Addressing these concerns, along with the infrastructure performance and scale demands of cloud computing, presents a multi-dimensional testing challenge. Spirent’s latest HyperMetrics neXt modules for Spirent TestCenter™ enables service providers, equipment vendors and enterprises to validate all dimensions of cloud computing performance, availability, security and scale (PASS) to help ensure a seamless application user experience.

The HyperMetrics neXt family introduces several modules:

  • HyperMetrics dX, offering unprecedented density with 32-ports of 10G Ethernet per module, is designed to test the terabit capacity of switch and router fabrics at more than 70 percent lower cost than the previous generation of test solutions.

  • HyperMetrics mX 10G Ethernet, available in 2, 4 and 8-port versions, is designed to test converged cloud infrastructure, with the ability to scale to a terabit of stateful traffic per chassis and emulate 6 million mobile subscribers and billions of IPv4 and IPv6 flows and routes.

  • HyperMetricx mX 40G/100G Ethernet, with 4 ports of 40G or 2 ports of 100G Ethernet on a single module, doubles the port density per module compared to any other 40/100G test solution. It is the industry's first high-speed Ethernet test module specifically designed to stress infrastructure scalability, measure multi-play experience and validate cloud application security.

Spirent TestCenter HyperMetrics neXt modules achieve their unprecedented performance by combining Spirent's Cloud Core™ technology with the world's fastest integrated processors from Intel. The modules deliver on Spirent’s PASS methodology and, when combined with Spirent TestCenter Virtual and Spirent Avalanche Virtual, enable engineers to test between any points in the cloud infrastructure.
