SAN FRANCISCO -- QualysT, Inc., a leading provider of vulnerability management solutions, today announced it will work with IBM to deliver on demand vulnerability management services to IBM's managed security services customers. The QualysGuard solution offers technical accuracy, scalability, distributed scanning and management capabilities, and broad regulatory compliance capabilities.

"Vulnerability management has become a critical part of our network security process, and the ability to integrate a technology leader like Qualys directly into IBM's managed service was a very important factor in the service selection process," said Martin Leitner, Director of IT Risk Management at Zurich Financial Services.

QualysGuard automates the process of identifying and fixing network security vulnerabilities. This enables customers to audit their network security, demonstrate effective security practices and verify compliance with data protection laws and regulations. Vulnerability information from QualysGuard will also be correlated with information from IBM's managed security services to provide customers an integrated approach for enhancing network security, which is necessary to effectively combat worms and viruses.

"Vulnerability management has become a key security requirement for many companies," said John Suehr, segment executive for IBM Business Continuity and Recovery Services, Managed Security Services. "IBM and Qualys solutions can offer customers an enhanced degree of network security protection."

"IBM has built a world-class managed security service to provide its customers with an enhanced degree of protection," said Philippe Courtot, chairman and CEO of Qualys. "Adding QualysGuard's solutions to IBM's services can help companies better manage their network security in order to identify and fix vulnerabilities as frequently as necessary, without the costly burden of building and managing IT infrastructure."
