Netopia's Cayman Gateways support Netifice IP VPN implementation at Chipotle Mexican Grill restaurants

EMERYVILLE, Calif. -- Netopia, Inc. (NASDAQ: NTPA), a market leader in broadband equipment, software and services, today announced that Chipotle Mexican Grill Restaurants will be able to access Netifice's Retail Connect IP VPN service by using Netopia Cayman Gateways. Chipotle is utilizing Netifice's Retail Connect Service to reduce access costs and support various restaurant management applications at all of its 250 restaurants nationwide. "Netifice provides customers with a high-performance, always-on communication platform that lowers their costs while enabling them to deploy new applications and increase productivity," said Greg Davis, Vice President of Marketing and Product Management at Netifice Communications. "By using Netopia Cayman Gateways as part of the Netifice platform, we are able to actively manage Chipotle's customer premise devices and provide many value added services. As one of the fastest growing restaurant companies in the United States, Chipotle is depending on Netifice to enable customer support applications, including credit card transactions for its entire network of restaurants. To support this service, Netifice is deploying Netopia Cayman Gateways at Chipotle sites that access its services via DSL connections. Netifice is utilizing its proprietary SmartWorX provisioning, monitoring and management platform to ensure timely and hassle-free installation of these new services.
