TORONTO -- MERA Systems, Inc., a forefront developer of carrier-grade VoIP solutions, today announced MERA SIPrise, its new VoIP-based service creation platform. MERA SIPrise allows carriers to deliver a wide variety of next-gen voice services including IVR, calling cards, conferencing, and many more, as well as independently develop value-added communication services.

Value-added services are a major driver of revenue growth for telecommunications carriers. The ability to create differentiated service offerings enables service providers to stand out in the crowded market environment. To meet the expectations of users, new services must come to market quickly and cost-effectively, and be tailored to suit the needs of different customer groups. MERA SIPrise is designed specifically to enable VoIP service providers to create and quickly bring to market next-gen voice services of any kind.

With MERA SIPrise, telcos can:

  • Create a wide variety of IVR-based directory services ranging from weather watch to voting polls

  • Provide access points for calling card users

  • Offer voice mail services to enterprises and end users

  • Deliver a broad range of IVR services to enterprise users (auto attendant, employee notification, call center automation, customer surveys, bill reminders, and many more)

  • Run call shops based on 'pure' VoIP avoiding PSTN interconnects

  • Create any custom-built IVR application

  • Offer IP Centrex services

The distributed architecture of MERA SIPrise provides for added flexibility and reliability. The system is scalable up to 5,000 concurrent calls. It supports both SIP and H.323 protocols and seamlessly integrates with the carrier's legacy and next-gen equipment.

"Unlike other service platforms, such as legacy IVR systems, MERA SIPrise is built upon the VoIP technology and is software-based, which means that carriers can achieve a much lower cost per port and flexibly integrate the platform with their existing equipment and services," comments Konstantin Nikashov, CEO for MERA Systems. "Telcos can flexibly change the product functionality by adding or removing the service modules. The platform is already being tested on the networks of several large regional VoIP service providers which plan to drive new revenue streams with a variety of specialized services that attract and retain customers."
