FREMONT, Calif. -- Service creation solutions provider net.com announced today that Thomas Rambold, formerly CTO of the Information and Communications Networks division of Siemens, has joined the company's board of directors. Rambold, currently the CEO of Munich-based DESS Consulting GmbH, a global technology consulting service, was with Siemens Communications for approximately 30 years. During that time, he led numerous IP, wireless and broadband initiatives, including the establishment of Unisphere and the Siemens' acquisition of Redstone, Argon and Castle as part of that project. During his Siemens' career, Rambold was also the head of the global broadband business unit, and lead the Data/IP business unit, with nearly 15 years prior to that in the Siemens enterprise space. Additionally, he worked as a key member of the reengineering team for Rolm (bought by Siemens from IBM in 1989) and headed the reengineering team for global enterprise manufacturing for Siemens. "We are delighted to welcome Thomas to net.com's board of directors," commented Bert Whyte, president and CEO of net.com. "Thomas brings a wealth of industry experience to our team, not only in the IP space but also in manufacturing and system planning, along with a great deal of global experience in the service provider market.
