Thenew software allows broadband service providers to moreeasily define and manage multi-tiered and on-demandservice offerings.IP addresses are the most basic element of broadbandservices. They are the identity of each broadbandsubscriber and their services, comparable to a phonenumber. They provide access to the network and defineservice packages. As broadband subscribers have grownand new services such as IP telephony, gaming,interactive video, and streaming media have beenprepared for rollout, traditional methods for managingIP addresses have failed.
