BOCA RATON, Fla. -- CopperCom, the company that is Liberating the Local Exchange, today announced the availability of Release 2.2 software for its CSX® 1100 and CSX® 2100 next generation softswitch systems. This release includes Business Features, IP residential and business services through DSL, Cable, Fiber and Wireless access interfaces as well as enhanced OSS services. This is the first of several near term product announcements that will continue to address VoIP solutions for fixed wireless and direct enterprise connections.

The Business features in the CSX platform allow service providers to offer revenue-generating services in both TDM and IP environments. Residential IP services allow incumbents and CLECs to offer VoIP services that compete through quality and cost with IXC and ASP "Internet" voice solutions. In addition, the CSX distributed design enables cost effective out-of-region capabilities by centralizing softswitch control and deploying remotely managed IP gateways. Just as importantly, CopperCom's rich suite of voice services can be integrated into bundled triple play solutions under the CSX's extensive web based service management capability.

"With Release 2.2, CopperCom continues to supply an extendable platform which is especially designed for carriers with hybrid mixed circuit and packet networks, a reality for many years to come. This release is timed perfectly with the recent swell in market adoption of packet voice technologies," states Bob Kersey, vice president of product management at CopperCom. "Our solution demonstrates the flexibility of the CSX platform which incorporates multiple access technologies."
