Cirpack Adds IMS to Softswitches

LONDON -- CIRPACK, a developer of next generation voice switches for operators’ infrastructures, today announced availability of software enhancements for its Class-5 telephony platform enabling wireline telecom operators to deploy TISPAN-compliant architectures. This allows quick migration of legacy PSTN to global voice over IP networks capable of massive cost reductions and easy introduction of new voice services such as fixed-mobile convergence according to 3GPP’s IP Multimedia Subsystem (IMS).

The TISPAN committee is the ETSI core competence centre for migration of fixed networks from circuit-switched to packet-based networks with an architecture that can serve in both. The goal is to seamlessly connect legacy POTS and ISDN users to a next generation networks architecture also delivering voice over IP services to new broadband users from the same platforms. Cirpack switches deliver consistent telephony services across all of these wireline technologies, sharing applications and resources with a wireless IMS.
