DERRY, N.H. -- Cedar Point Communications, the leader in integrated VoIP switching technologies for the cable industry, will demonstrate advanced SIP-based telephony features and provide a "first look" at its IMS strategy during its exhibit at the NCTA National Show April 9-11 in Atlanta.

At its booth (#2669) at the Georgia World Congress Center, Cedar Point will show the ability of its SAFARI C(Cubed)(TM) Media Switching System to support applications that can be delivered today with both PacketCable NCS and SIP, simultaneously on the same platform. In addition, Cedar Point will show how SAFARI C(Cubed)(TM), as IP Multimedia Subsystem (IMS) core elements, supports the communications industry's anticipated migration to IMS architecture for converged networks.

"Even as operators are scaling up deployments of voice, the industry already is looking ahead to additional features and applications that will give cable a competitive edge," said Dave Spear, executive vice president, strategy and market development for Cedar Point Communications. "We believe that the same attributes that have made SAFARI C(Cubed) successful in the PacketCable architecture - simplicity, cost-effectiveness and scalability - will play key roles in helping our existing and future customers to roll out advanced broadband telephony services."

SAFARI C(Cubed) is the only totally integrated carrier class VoIP switch that incorporates -- at no additional cost -- all of the components that make up the PacketCable(TM) voice switching infrastructure, and provides a platform for the anticipated migration to video telephony and multimedia service. The PacketCable(TM)-qualified SAFARI C(Cubed) provides superior performance and reliability, significantly reducing capital expenditures, system integration and operations costs for cable operators offering telephony services while increasing network integrity, security and privacy.
