BASKING RIDGE, N.J. -- Avaya Inc., (NYSE: AV) a leading global provider of business communications applications, systems and services, today announced that for the third quarter of 2005 it has maintained global market leadership in Enterprise Telephony according to Dell 'Oro Group's IP Telephony Enterprise Report, 3Q 05. This measurement includes both Internet Protocol (IP) telephony and traditional telephony revenues.

The report places Avaya as the leader position in Enterprise Telephony, with 19 percent of the market in the third quarter, two points ahead of the nearest competitor.

For example, the Boston Red Sox implemented Avaya IP telephony solutions to link its home base at Fenway Park with spring training grounds in Florida, and upgraded customer service facilities to help fans reach the ticket office more quickly. For its fourth fiscal quarter, ended on September 30, Avaya reported that product sales rose 11.5 percent over the previous quarter.
