MAINZ, Germany -- Cube Optics, a Germany-based developer and manufacturer of miniaturized fiber-optic components for telecommunications and data communications today announced it has signed a distribution agreement with Nippon Sheet Glass (NSG), a Japanese manufacturer and supplier of advanced glass chemistry products for optical communications, electronics, automotive, and building industries. The Micro Optics Company (MOC), NSG's fiber-optical branch, will sell and technically support CUBO's extremely small and highly flexible Wavelengths Division Multiplexers (WDM), couplers and switches in Japan. NSG, inventor of the SELFOC GRIN lenses and part of the Sumitomo Group, with subsidiaries in Asia, Europe, and North America, has chosen to co-operate with Cube Optics because of CUBO's revolutionary packaging technology for fiber-optical components. The distribution agreement was signed after a previous test-marketing period where NSG achieved an outstanding interest for CUBO's miniaturized components in the Japanese market. Therefore, NSG and CUBO expect this alliance to bring good synergy effects and to expand the fiber-optic business even more. Cube Optics AG (CUBO)
