EDISON, N.J. -- Vonage, the leading provider of broadband phone service, today announced a strategic partnership with MediaWorks to deliver alternative home telephone services to its aggressively growing broadband subscriber base. Now, Mediaworks cable and broadband subscribers residing within the southeastern U.S. can select from Vonage’s residential and small business plans offering flat rate full-featured calling ranging from $14.99 to $49.99 per month. The product will be branded “VoiceWorks powered by Vonage,” and is expected to launch in mid-December.

Vonage now gives MediaWorks subscribers an alternative to traditional phone service in conjunction with its high-speed Internet service. Mediaworks entire network of subscribers can access all of Vonage’s residential and small business calling plans that include features like call waiting, voicemail and caller ID, in addition to new, advanced proprietary features that are not currently available from traditional phone services, such as selecting your own area code, online account management and Web-based voicemail retrieval.

“We have tapped into Mediaworks network of customers to provide Vonage as part of its comprehensive, bundled services,” said Kevin Guilford, national account manager, Private Label Sales Channel of Vonage. “Vonage complements Mediaworks quality of service and expands its high-speed Internet offering to include flat-rate, full-featured broadband telephony service.”
