FRAMINGHAM, Mass. -- Proxilliant Systems Corp., which offers solutions essential to broadband service expansion and profitability of broadband cable networks, has announced the appointment of Sonia Khademi as the company’s Chief Executive Officer.

Ms. Khademi, a veteran cable industry executive who first began working in the U.S. cable industry in 1983 as a Design Engineer for Data Transmission Devices, is the co-founder of two telecommunications companies over the past ten years—CableSoft Corporation and Sumatus.

In 1996, as co-founder, President and CEO of CableSoft, Ms. Khademi brought that company to the forefront of the Interactive Television Market and the center of the convergence of television and the Internet. For the company, she launched the cable industry's first commercially available Interactive Television service, demonstrating her expertise in the planning, development, and delivery of complex and innovative information services. Among the company’s customers were nearly all of the Top 5 cable MSOs at the time. In 2001, she successfully sold CableSoft to Open TV. In 2004, she co-founded Sumatus, a solution provider and integrator that specializes in IP-based technology in the key areas of IP surveillance, VoIP applications, and multi-services wireless connectivity.

Ms. Khademi also held senior executive roles with Interactive Systems Corp, a division of Kodak; Hughes LAN Systems; and Cisco Systems. She holds a B.S.E.E. degree from Northeastern University.
