CHANTILLY, Va. -- NEC Eluminant Technologies' FiberSLAM 1000 fiber-to-the-business PON system has achieved NEBS Level 3 certification and is now in full production release, the company announced today. The broadband passive optical network (BPON) system was initially demonstrated at SUPERCOMM in June and is ready for lab evaluations by service providers worldwide as well as in the U.S. NEBS (Network Equipment Building System) certification, which ensures a high degree of product safety and reliability, is a requirement for product deployment in ILEC and many other domestic and global service provider networks. FiberSLAM is also FCC approved and UL listed.
