MINNEAPOLIS -- ADC (NASDAQ:ADCT; www.adc.com) today introduced the OmniReach(TM) Fiber Distribution Hub (FDH) 3000, a new fiber-to-the-p (FTTP) solution enabling flexible optical fiber cabling deployment to a subscriber's residence, enterprise or other location. The OmniReach FDH 3000 is the industry's first infrastructure cabling cabinet designed to meet the unique requirements of independent carriers, utilities and municipalities. This new product will be featured at OSP Expo in ADC's booth #63008, June 5-7 in Chicago.

FTTP technologies require a new outside plant approach: there is more fiber to manage, a greater need for physical layer access, and the network must be configured for future expansion and upgrades. Designed for operational efficiency and scalability, the OmniReach FDH 3000 provides for rapid connection between fiber optic cables and passive optical splitters in the outside plant, facilitating fast service connection and reconfiguration. The solution simplifies FTTP network installation, maintenance and management from the central office to the outside plant.

"This product is an important industry first. Successful FTTP deployments require pre-planning and a thorough understanding of the technology for optimal operational and financial efficiency over the life of the network," said Tom Kampf, vice president, FTTX Product Management at ADC. "The FDH 3000 allows end-users to future-proof their networks, giving them room to grow and meeting the diverse needs of FTTP subscribers."
