LONDON -- BT today turned up the heat in the UK business calls market by launching a combined fixed and mobile calls package.

BT Business Plan with Mobile, which has been on trial since July last year, offers small and medium sized businesses one bill, an annual five per cent discount on combined fixed and mobile calls, capped rates on fixed line calls and preferential rates on mobile to mobile and mobile to the office calls.

The package also features BT Billing Analyst, a powerful tool that allows businesses to analyse their bill and control their spending on calls.

Bill Murphy, managing director of BT Business, said: “BT Business Plan with Mobile is a great addition to the family of services we offer small businesses.”

He dismissed price comparisons made by Orange between its new fixed-line service and BT. “This plan goes significantly further than the offering from competitors like Orange. Their price comparisons are made against our standard rate, a rate which most of our BT Business Plan customers do not pay. “What’s more, this service is already working, it’s available now and it’s been on trial successfully since July, delivering tangible benefits to customers.”

BT say that their new package meets a growing need for businesses, where increasingly the spend on mobile can overtake their fixed line bill.
