HICKORY, N.C. -- Corning Cable Systems LLC, part of Corning Incorporated’s (NYSE:GLW) Telecommunications segment, is providing its Evolant® Advantage Optical Solution for the Lake Las Vegas fiber-to-the-home (FTTH) deployment.

New Village Communications, which provides cable system management, is providing the FTTH infrastructure and services for the development. Video Communications Engineering, a full-service provider of engineering services, provided the total turnkey EF&I services for the project, including system engineering, material procurement and construction services.

Located 17 miles from the Las Vegas Strip, Lake Las Vegas is a 3,600-acre development containing residential homes, hotels and championship golf courses. The development is expected to reach 10,000 units when the build-out is completed.

“We realized the experience Corning could bring and felt their Advantage products delivered the best value proposition for this deployment,” said Dan Ryan, chief executive officer of New Village Communications. “The OptiTap Connector provided additional benefits because of its ease of installation and configuration.”

The Corning Cable Systems OptiTap™ Connector is a hardened connector designed for use in the drop cable portion of a pre-connectorized network. Its simple operation reduces installation time, saving money and accelerating subscriber connections. Other Corning Cable Systems products deployed in the solution set include optical cable, OptiSheath™ MultiPort Terminals, OptiTect™ Cabinets and UCAO Splice Closures.

“We have always considered Corning to be a world-leading provider of fiber optic systems and solutions,” said Devon Kampshoff, vice president of engineering at Video Communications Engineering. “The collaboration of VCEI’s expertise and solutions offerings and Corning’s superior product suite will continue bring our shared customers a seamless, professional and complete end-to-end solution for their FTTH network needs.”
