Eircom Appoints CFO

DUBLIN -- eircom today announced the appointment of Peter Cross as Chief Financial Officer. He will also be co-opted to the eircom board.

Peter joins from BT Group, where he is currently Director of Strategic Planning. He is also a trustee of the BT Pension Scheme, the UK’s largest defined benefit scheme. Peter has been with BT since 2001, initially as Director of Corporate Finance, with responsibility for all of the Group’s acquisition and disposal activities. Subsequently, he was Chief Financial Officer of BT Openreach, where he led the establishment of the business unit responsible for delivering BT’s network-based access and backhaul products to all communications providers.

Prior to joining BT, Peter was Executive Director at Morgan Stanley in London, where he advised clients on a wide range of corporate transactions, across many industries and regions. He previously held a similar role at Barings. Peter, 39, qualified as a Chartered Accountant with Arthur Andersen, and holds a first class Bachelor of Commerce degree from University College Dublin.
