TEMPE, Ariz. -- Emerson Network Power, a business of Emerson (NYSE:EMR) and the global leader in enabling Business-Critical Continuity™, today announced SpiderWareM3 platform management software designed for remote management, monitoring and maintenance of multiple IPMI-compatible platforms. Available on the CentellisTM 500 and Centellis 1000 MicroTCATM systems, and planned for the Centellis 2000 AdvancedTCA® (ATCA®) system, the new intelligent platform management tool enables swift assessment and assimilation of Emerson Network Power’s systems into existing middleware applications.

Control and management of platforms are critical to the efficient and effective use of data and communication networks. From controlling power to fault management, SpiderWareM3 helps run platforms to reduce operating expenses, minimize downtime, and ensure the best use of manpower. The software utilizes an innovative ‘view and click’ interface to ensure smooth platform operation for Emerson Network Power’s telecom equipment manufacturer (TEM) and original equipment manufacturer (OEM) customers.

For the first time, SpiderWareM3 will be used as the heart of an industry-wide interoperability demonstration to verify the use of Advanced Mezzanine Cards (AMCs) from various suppliers in conjunction with Emerson’s SpiderWareM3 MicroTCA carrier hub (MCH) combination. The interoperability demonstration will take place at the MicroTCA Summit, May 28-30, at the Marriott Westfields in Chantilly, VA and will illustrate SpiderWareM3’s powerful ability to recognize and manage any AMC compatible with the IPMI standards outlined by the PCI Industrial Computer Manufacturers Group (PICMG). This adds a new, significant dimension to the Ecosystem with the capability to manage any AMC and multiple MicroTCA platforms.

“We continually strive to add value for our customers, who need reliable, easy-to-use software and asset management capabilities,” said Rod Anliker, software product line manager for the Embedded Computing business of Emerson Network Power. “Our SpiderWareM3 solution greatly reduces the time required for assessment and development of our MicroTCA and ATCA platforms, and can be quickly and easily integrated into other software applications.

“And best of all, it’s a strong proof point that the promise of industry interoperability is here,” he said.
