AsiaInfo Names CEO, Chairman

BEIJING and SANTA CLARA, Calif. -- AsiaInfo Holdings, Inc. (Nasdaq:ASIA), a leading provider of telecom software solutions in China, today announced that Mr. Xingsheng Zhang, a twenty-year veteran in the Chinese telecommunications industry, has been named president and Chief Executive Officer, effective April 1, 2003. Mr. Zhang, 48, who was previously Chief Marketing Officer of Ericsson (China) Co. Ltd, will succeed James Ding. Mr. Ding, one of AsiaInfo's co-founders and the company's president and CEO since 1999, will replace Mr. Louis Lau as the Chairman of the Board, who will step down as Chairman but will remain on the Board of Directors. "As AsiaInfo develops, its requirements for its management team changes," said Mr. Lau.
