SAN DIEGO -- Applied Micro Circuits Corp. (AMCC) (Nasdaq:AMCC), a leader in high-bandwidth silicon connectivity solutions for the world's optical networks, today announced the S3076, a high-performance multi-rate clock and data recovery unit (CDR) and the S3078 CDR with integrated limiting amplifier. The S3076 and S3078 solutions offer an industry leading combination of jitter generation as low as 3.5 mUI rms and operate at multi-rate with Forward Error Correction (FEC) rates in support of AMCC's existing metro DWDM and optical networking solutions.

"Combined with our S3062/67 multi-rate FEC devices, the S3076/78 provides our customers with the best combination of features, jitter performance, power consumption and cost in the industry," said Ken Prentiss, AMCC's director of marketing for telecom products. "The S3076 and S3078 propels AMCC further in the lead with multi-rate solutions for metro optical networks."
