PLEASANTON, Calif. -- Aduro, Inc., an optical subassembly company, announced that it has signed an agreement to acquire Blaze Network Products, the technology leader of CWDM for Datacom and a key driver behind the IEEE standard for LX4.

Aduro also announced that it has launched its first two OSA product lines, designed specifically for transceiver providers. Ready for production today are Aduro’s 4-channel, 850nm-based TOSA and ROSA, and to be released soon are Aduro’s 4-channel, 1300nm-based TOSA and ROSA. Both product lines are capable of handling 12.5Gbps of raw data, or 10Gbps of encoded Ethernet data.

"Building on the success of Blaze’s IP and precision, automated factory, Aduro is quickly creating a new business model that enables us to sell some of the most-advanced, yet cost-effective, CWDM subassemblies on the market.” says Brian Peters, CEO of Aduro. “With the immediate need for multimode transceivers in 10G Ethernet systems, we are focusing most of our resources on finalizing a low-cost TOSA for LX4. However, we’ve also found equal interest for our SX4 in the DVI and camera-link market where the signal speeds and distances are mirroring those in the datacom market.”

Aduro’s subassemblies include the active optical components, the driver or amplifier, the mux and the coupler all in one small package capable if fitting inside a XENPAK or and X2 module. All the precision manufacturing and test is done on-sight in Pleasanton. By the middle of this year, Aduro expects to have all the Blaze equipment on-line and most of the key products converted into subassemblies.
