MINNEAPOLIS -- ADC (Nasdaq:ADCT; www.adc.com) today announced the naming of Mike Pratt to the position of President of ADC's Wireline Systems Business Unit. Pratt joins ADC from Marconi, PLC, where he served as Executive Vice President of the Broadband Access Division, a $1 billion business unit. ADC's Wireline Systems Business Unit develops and markets systems for the successful deployment and management of advanced DSL networks. The global unit is comprised of approximately 650 people with major offices in Tustin, Calif.; Richardson, Texas; Minneapolis, Minn.; and Tel Aviv, Israel. The unit markets ADC's broadband access gateway products (iAN and BroadAccess 40), HDSL systems (Soneplex), DSL access multiplexers (Avidia), and small subscriber solutions (PG-Flex, FlexPlus and PG-Plus). "Mike brings outstanding credentials and a track record of success to ADC, and I am pleased that he is joining us during this important time in ADC's history," said Rick Roscitt, chairman and CEO of ADC. "ADC is bringing to market new and innovative systems for DSL networks that complement and enhance our existing portfolio of quality DSL solutions. Mike's leadership will be instrumental in further refining and executing our strategy to take and win market share in this market segment." Pratt replaces Larry Ford, who will retire from ADC after a brief transition period. As a Business Unit President, Pratt will report directly to Rick Roscitt, and will assume his duties in mid-June.
