January 21, 2015
LOS ANGELES -- Vubiquity, the leading global provider of premium content services, today announced an agreement with NCTC to make Vubiquity’s LiveVU linear television platform available to NCTC members. LiveVU’s hosted MPEG-2 and MPEG-4 service enables NCTC members to retire aging/end-of-life, MPEG-2 transcode solutions, or seamlessly migrate from MPEG-2 to MPEG-4, helping MVPDs transitioning to the more bandwidth efficient, high-quality MPEG-4 codec. LiveVU includes access to more than 720 SD and HD channels.
LiveVU is compatible with legacy MPEG-2 set-top boxes, MPEG-4 set-top boxes, DAC/NAS/NASRAC, Verimatrix, Mediaroom, Minerva and every major vendor in the CATV space. NCTC members will have access to preferred pricing from Vubiquity, and in most cases will be able to migrate or commercially deploy with LiveVU within weeks.
In addition to aggregating the broadcast feeds of hundreds of major cable networks, the LiveVU platform includes compelling linear networks unavailable on other platforms. LiveVU offers revenue-generating services, including SD & HD pay-per-view channels, the ShopNow Direct Response Ad Network, and cutting edge digital networks, such as Havoc TV and Galaxie Music.
