SALEM, N.H.-- StockerYale, Inc., (NASDAQ:STKR), a leading independent provider of phase masks, specialty optical fiber and related optical sub-components for the telecommunications industry, announces the official opening of its new 15,000 square foot R&D and manufacturing facility in Salem N.H. with a ribbon cutting ceremony on September 25, 2001. Among the participants at the ribbon cutting will be Governor Jeanne Shaheen, as keynote speaker, in addition to Senator Arthur Klemm and Commissioner George Bald who will also speak at the ceremony. The new facility is adjacent to StockerYale's existing 80,000 square foot plant and corporate offices and will be the home of iSOFC, a majority-owned subsidiary. This strategic business venture will concentrate on the development of innovative, all-fiber optical components. It is expected that these innovative, all-fiber optical components will ultimately reduce costs for optical equipment and optical component manufacturers. In addition, as increased functionality is engineered into the fiber, improved performance of the all-optical network will be realized. "The construction of this new, state-of-the-art facility is the result of continued demand from major optical component manufacturers for our primary, enabling optical sub-components and specialty optical fiber," said Mark W. Blodgett, StockerYale's chairman and chief executive officer.StockerYale Inc.
