Sonim joins forces with Adventnet, GoAhead, and Solid to bring to market the first carrier-grade OMA PoC 1.0 platform
September 22, 2006
SAN MATEO, Calif. -- Sonim Technologies, a leader in the emerging market for mobile VoIP push-to-talk solutions for enterprises, today announced commercial availability of the first fully redundant implementation of OMA PoC 1.0, the new IMS-compliant standard for PTT interoperability. Sonim's Xperience PoC Server ("XPS") implementation has been completed ahead of other market aspirants thanks in part to several enabling technologies from Sonim's best-in-class solution partners, Adventnet, GoAhead® Software and Solid Information Technology.
Sonim and these partners have collaborated for several years on designing and producing a high-performance platform that is able to deliver carrier-grade OMA PoC services at the lowest cost point in the market - both in small scale and large scale deployments. The combined solution features all the performance and reporting capabilities expected by Tier 1 mobile operators, yet also enables efficient small scale initial deployments through the use of an innovative PC clustering architecture.
Adventnet's contribution to the solution includes a turn-key element and network management system that compliments the Sonim platform with the rich provisioning and reporting capabilities demanded by today's network operators.
"Sonim has built a world class IMS-based OMA PoC solution that leverages Adventnet's unique approach to network and element management," said Ian Wenig, Director of Business Development at Adventnet. "Sonim is a great example of an Adventnet customer that has been able to significantly reduce development cost and time to market by leveraging our industry-leading OEM software solutions for system management and performance."
