Shipley and Coviant strengthen strategic relationship for optical manufacturing services (OMS)

HORSHAM, Pa. and BLACKSBURG, Va. -- Shipley Company, L.L.C., an innovative supplier of components and processes for optical device manufacture, and Coviant, Inc., a leader in precision optical manufacturing services, announced today that they will strengthen their strategic partnership. As part of this arrangement, Shipley will become a preferred supplier of fiber optic subcomponents and services to Coviant. Coviant will provide optoelectronic component design and manufacturing services to Shipley's customer base. Together, the two companies will provide an end-to-end component packaging solution to customers in the Telecommunications, MIL/Aerospace, Medical and Industrial markets. Angelique Irvin, Chairman and Chief Operating Officer, of Coviant said, "Our customers have told us that they are seeking a cost-effective solution to their optical packaging requirements, from initial design through volume production.
