CANNES, France -- Cicero Networks, a leading developer of wireless VoIP solutions for the service provider market, today launched “CiceroVoice”, a private Voice over Wi-Fi trial service for operators and service providers.

CiceroVoice is designed to make it easy for service providers to evaluate VoWi-Fi, by enabling them to make and receive calls through a dedicated service. The service is managed by Cicero Networks and requires no setup in the operator’s network. It is based on the company’s award winning VoWi-Fi product, Cicero, and it enables calls to be made from any Wi-Fi enabled location - in the office, at home or from a public hotspot.

“Wireless VoIP is a truly revolutionary product for the telecommunications industry” said Ross Brennan, CEO of Cicero Networks. "We have been using Cicero to route Wi-Fi calls directly through carrier switches for several months and we are now offering operators the capability to try it out without a significant upfront investment".

CiceroVoice will enable operators to technically evaluate the solution and consider the service options they can provide to their residential and corporate customers. They will also be able to use it to offer Wi-Fi voice services to selected groups of employees or, indeed, target customers prior to full service launch.

The Cicero VoWi-Fi product is currently being trialed by a number of European operators. The first Cicero enabled Voice over Wi-Fi service will be launched by a European operator in Q2 2005 with more operators planning full service launch later in the year.

Cicero is a SIP based, platform-independent solution, with intelligent call routing and QoS features specifically designed for Wi-Fi based voice services. Supporting both inbound and outbound calls, Cicero enables operators to increase revenues, reduce subscriber churn and cut interconnect costs.
